EV and EVSE Metering Accuracy Testing Request for Information

The Joint Utilities of New York, in coordination with DPS Staff and the Technical Standards Working Group (TSWG), have released a Request for Information (RFI) on May 15, 2023 for stakeholders to provide responses with regards to the accuracy testing of electric vehicles (EVs) and electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) for submetering purposes in residential managed charging programs. The RFI is part of ongoing efforts by the TSWG pursuant to the requirements in Case 18-E-0138, Proceeding on Motion of the Commission Regarding Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment and Infrastructure (EV Proceeding), Order Approving Managed Charging Programs with Modifications (issued July 14, 2022). All RFI responses are requested by June 12, 2023. Please send all responses and any supporting documentation to info@jointutilitiesofny.org, with the email subject "EV Metering Accuracy RFI Response – [your organization name]." EV Make-Ready Program Midpoint Review Kickoff Meeting 

The Joint Utilities of New York held a stakeholder presentation in coordination with DPS Staff, NYSERDA, NYPA, and PSEG-LI/LIPA to kick off the Midpoint Review for the EV Make-Ready Program on September 20, 2022. View the presentation slides here. 

 

 

DSP Enablement Newsletters

The Joint Utilities are excited to release the March 2025 Newsletter! The 2025 Q1 newsletter provides updates on the ongoing Grid of the Future work, annual EV Make-Ready program report and Load Management Technology Incentive Program (LMTIP) review, Integrated Energy Data Resource (IEDR) Phase 2 engagement, interconnection process efficiency enhancement, continued progress on hosting capacity maps and stakeholder opportunities, and continued efforts on NYISO's DER participation model & FERC Order 2222 implementation.

NYISO DER Aggregation Market and FERC 2222

Day Ahead Operating Plan (DDAOP) Template

View the JU  DER Granular Dispatch Data Whitepaper, which provides background on day‐ahead information sharing requirements for the NYISO DER participation model between DER participating in the NYISO wholesale market either individually or through an aggregator and Utility required to ensure safe and reliable operation of the system. 

On August 30th 2022, the Joint Utilities hosted a stakeholder session to review the telemetry requirements for communication between Aggregators and DU/TOs regarding the implementation of the NYISO’s DER Participation model. View the presentation deck or recorded webinar.

On April 29th 2022, the Joint Utilities hosted a stakeholder workshop with the Aggregator community and other interested parties to review the distribution utilities’ plans to support the implementation of the NYISO’s DER Participation model, including the FERC 2222 tariff revisions. These market innovations will entail the opening of the wholesale markets to aggregated resources, including generation and load reduction, located on the distributed system.
